Treasure hunt walk

Hello everyone,

I am sure you and your family members feel the need to go outside for a little bit, once in a while. While "practicing social distancing", you can also add a little learning and English to the time you spend outside. For example, if you really need to go shopping and you have to bring the kids, how about trying a treasure hunt along the way?

Make a list of shapes they need to find - for example: squares, triangles, diamonds, and hearts.
Then, as you walk, the children (and you) need to find the shapes. It can be a great way to make that 20 minute walk outside into an hour or more with the children enjoying themselves without needing to play with others or climb on swings and slides and so on.

*I recommend counting them all at the start so the children see how many shapes are all around us. But they will quickly see that the numbers are really high (like squares or rectangles in a fence or on a brick building), so then just switch to different places or items with shapes (1 building with square bricks = 1 point for squares).
