Nature walks (2)

Hello everyone,

This time in our blogs about enjoying time outdoors and adding English into our lives, I will continue to describe nature walks.

Two weeks ago I shared the idea of having printouts ready to go for a sudden walk outside.

If you have one of those ready, then you just need to get ready in other ways. Add English to this part of the activity and get into English mode before you step out of the house (or car).

You can make a checklist for what to bring on your walk. Your kids can help get ready (and that will help with other trips too!) before you leave.

What to Bring on a Nature Walk
• Put on some comfortable shoes.
• Grab a notebook or drawing pad and some colored pencils.
• A paper bag (or ecobag) for kids to collect things they see on their walks.
• Water bottles and snacks.
• Bug spray.
• A light backpack to keep everything together.
• Don't forget the scavenger hunt sheets.

Make the instructions in English and Japanese for the kids to see and eventually read.

Then use English to ask them if they are ready.
Do you have your shoes? How about your coloring pencils? Please get your water bottle.

Lastly, enjoy the time together outside!
