桜の実

小学生の低学年の頃よく食べたものです。木によって渋味苦味の違いがあり、美味しい桜の実レポート作ったのだけど教師にはあまり誉められなかった...ちぇ～っ。

食べても毒ではないけれど、個体によって味の差が激しくまあそんなに旨いものではないので食べられていないようてす。

さくらんぼとはバラ科でおなじなのですけど、食べる方はサクラ属サクラ亜属、桜はモモ亜科スモモ属。何だか逆のような気もしますね。

Where does June come from?

The month of June is named after the Roman goddess Juno. The goddess Juno is the protector of marriage and watched over the well-being of women. She is equated with the Greek goddess Hera and both of them have the symbol of the peacock.

平安時代の僧･空也上人がいた！

東京駅八重洲側に、JR東海のキャンペーンで、たくさんの空也上人のパネルが立てかけられいます。

そのパネルには47都道府県の方言で「そうだ 京都、行こう」というフレーズが描かれている。

少しご紹介すると、宮城弁/「んだ　京都さ、えぐべ」、佐賀弁/「そぎゃんばい　京都、行かんば」などです。

写真のは実寸大の空也上人立像です。ありがたい、ありがたい。

買ったど～(^^)/

上野駅の中の「宮崎牛自販機」を以前紹介いたしましたが、買ってきました～(^^♪ 3,500円(120g)をお試しで購入いたしました。ひれ肉でしたので脂身も少なく牛肉本来の旨味があり、塩やワサビで頂きました！

真夏日！

日中は気温がぐんぐんと上がり、30度越えとなるそうです。

9時54分現在は26度です。

13時06分現在は29度となりました。

Nature walks (4)

Your children can draw detailed maps as they walk around their neighbourhood. During their walk, they can notice the streets and paths, the rivers,and any landmarks, or other unique places.

These maps could be used for talks about emergencies to improve your family emergency plans. You can also add activities, such as a treasure hunt. Give hints on the pictures or mark the map with directions.

For older kids you can learn where their friends live, so that you will know where they might be after school or on the weekends.
